Founded in 2024 with hope for a better future.

From our founders

We created Planted in 2024 to help provide crucial legal assistance, guidance, and support to ensure that recently immigrated children can thrive in their new home.

By donating to Planted, you can directly impact the lives of these vulnerable children. Your generosity will enable us to continue our vital work, including legal representation, advocacy, educational programs, and mental health resources tailored to the unique needs of immigrant youth.

One specific project is to help qualifying children in NOVA to apply for Special Immigrant Juvenile Status (SIJS). This route to a green card and, ultimately, citizenship is reserved for children who have been abused, abandoned, or neglected by at least one of their parents. Planted has identified children that currently qualify for SIJS and connected them with legal counsel. The cost of moving these children through the relevant process is around $5,000 per child. While the SIJS process can take years to complete, it is highly successful in helping qualifying children obtain stability.
